Minigame Rotation Incident Review: February 2023

Last month, we noticed a significant drop in player engagement and server traffic, which was concerning as our community relies heavily on a steady stream of active participants. Upon investigation, it became clear that the minigame rotation had become monotonous, with the same three games dominating the schedules and not enough variety to keep players interested. This was particularly problematic as some players were playing the same games multiple days in a row, leading to a lack of excitement and new experiences.

In response to this issue, the moderator team decided to introduce a more dynamic and diverse minigame rotation. We decided to limit the number of games running simultaneously to three, but added a wider variety of games, including a few new and experimental minigames that required less skill but offered quick and easy play sessions. This change aimed to keep the gameplay fresh and appealing to a broader range of players, including those who might have been disengaged due to the repetitive nature of the existing games.

We also increased the frequency of communication with our player base, providing more detailed and frequent updates about upcoming games, along with fun facts and tips that could help players better engage with the new minigames. The goal is to not only boost player interest but also to foster a sense of community and involvement in the game server's development. So far, the feedback from the players has been positive, and we are seeing an increase in activity on the server, which is encouraging.
