How to Report a Griefer

/archive/tebex/datapacks/ · last edited 09 Nov 2024 · Moderation

We chose to require a written report for all griefer incidents to ensure consistency and provide a clear record for moderators. This prevents misunderstandings and allows for faster resolution, especially when multiple incidents are reported from different players. A written form also encourages users to think through what happened and include useful details like time, location, and specific actions.

Reports must include the name of the player involved, the date and time of the event, a brief description of what occurred, and any evidence such as screenshots or in-game logs. We do not accept vague descriptions like “someone was mean” or “they ruined my build.” Specificity helps moderators assess the severity and determine appropriate action.

If a report comes in without key details, moderators will reply asking for clarification. This reduces the risk of false or misdirected actions and ensures that each case is evaluated on actual evidence rather than assumptions. The goal is to minimize disruption to the server while still maintaining a safe and fun environment.

We’ve found that players are more likely to report if the process feels straightforward and trustworthy. The form is kept simple—just enough to gather essential data without overwhelming users. This balance helps younger players participate without frustration, while still protecting the integrity of the moderation system.
