Weekly Leaderboard Reset

/archive/tebex/datapacks/ · last edited 24 Aug 2022 · Support

The weekly leaderboard resets every Sunday at 10:00 AM server time. This time was selected after reviewing player activity patterns and minimizing disruptions during peak hours. The reset triggers automatically via a scheduled script managed by the lead moderator. All player scores are cleared and recorded for the new week, with the new cycle starting immediately after the reset.

Decisions made during the meeting include keeping the reset time consistent across all game modes and ensuring that the reset does not coincide with any ongoing event or tournament. Players will receive a server-wide message 15 minutes before the reset, confirming the timing and reminding them to plan their final actions accordingly. No exceptions will be made for individual players, even during technical delays.

Open questions remain regarding how to handle players who are offline during the reset. Should their progress be preserved for the next cycle, or does the system treat them as if they never played? A test scenario is being set up for next week to evaluate how the system behaves when players reconnect immediately after the reset. Also under discussion is whether to display a summary of the prior week’s top performers on the server announcement board post-reset.

The team agreed to monitor the system logs for three consecutive weeks after the reset implementation to check for anomalies. Any issues found will be documented and reviewed in the following week’s meeting. Additionally, a feedback form will be posted in the server chat for players to report unexpected behavior or suggestions related to the reset process.
