Building Contest Rules Review

The last building contest was held a few months ago and it seemed to go off without a major hitch. The main issue that arose was with the 'no duplication' rule, which we've found in the past to be somewhat ambiguous. A few builders got around it by reusing parts of their previous builds, and then claiming that it was "inspired by" their old designs. This wasn't ideal, and we had to step in to remind everyone that the rule is in place to prevent unfair advantages.

To address this, we've updated the rules to specify that "inspiration" is not an acceptable excuse for duplicating parts. If you're inspired by someone else's build, you need to come up with your own unique twists and additions. This should help prevent the kind of gray area that led to the issues in the last contest.

We've also added a new clause to the rules that outlines the consequences for rule-breakers. From now on, if someone is found to be duplicating parts or using uninspired builds, they'll receive a warning and one week's worth of in-game penalties, including loss of items and privileges. We're hoping that this will give people a clear understanding of what's expected of them and encourage more original builds.
