Design Note: Community Events Calendar

The Community Events Calendar has been a central feature of our Rizzaster server since its inception. Initially, we had a simple text-based calendar where moderators would manually enter event details. However, this system was causing confusion and inaccuracies.

To address these issues, we have decided to integrate a more structured and automated event calendar. The new system will allow moderators to input event details via a form, which will then be automatically posted to the calendar. This change will streamline the process, reduce errors, and ensure that all community members have accurate and up-to-date information. Additionally, the calendar will be visually enhanced with color-coding to differentiate event types, making it easier for users to browse upcoming activities.

By implementing this design, we aim to improve the overall user experience for our community and make event planning more efficient for our volunteers. The transition will require some initial setup and training for moderators, but the long-term benefits are expected to be significant.
