On July 15, 2023, Rizzaster experienced significant server lag that affected the majority of players during the evening hours. The primary cause identified was an unexpected surge in player activity, with over 100 new registrations and active players during the peak gaming period, which was approximately 50% higher than usual.

To address this issue, our volunteer moderators collaborated to implement a series of changes. Firstly, we optimized the server's resource allocation to better manage the increased load, ensuring that critical game functions such as character movement and combat mechanics were less impacted. Secondly, we conducted a review of the server’s network infrastructure, which led to the discovery of some outdated software components that were updated to improve performance. Additionally, we have established a monitoring system to track server performance in real-time, allowing for quicker response times in case of future incidents. These changes have resulted in a more stable gaming experience, though we continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure optimal performance.
