We've decided to offer a shop where players can buy virtual items with real money. The main reason for this is that it allows us to fund some of the server's ongoing costs and give back to the community. Specifically, all shop revenue will be used to pay for server maintenance, updates, and possibly future events.
The idea is that the shop should only contain items that are fairly rare or hard to get in-game, and that the prices should be reasonable for the amount of in-game items being sold. We don't want the shop to become a way for players to buy an unfair advantage or for moderators to make money off the community.
To make sure the shop doesn't get out of hand, we've set up some rules for how it works. For example, all items must be available for purchase in the shop within a reasonable amount of time after they're added to the server. This means that if we add a new item to the server, it should also be available in the shop within a few days. The shop will also only be available to players who are 16 or older, and players under 16 will only be able to purchase items with parental consent.
