On February 10, a 12-year-old user was banned for 30 days due to a series of repeated instances of harassment towards a fellow user. The mod team had previously warned the user multiple times, but the behavior continued. The banned user claimed that their opponent had started the fight and that they were only defending themselves. However, the evidence collected by the mods showed that the user had made multiple threats and insults towards the opponent, which was not acceptable behavior.
The mod team discussed the appeal and decided that while the user's opponent may have started the fight, the user's response was disproportionate and unacceptable. The mod team reminded the team that harassment is not tolerated on the server, regardless of the circumstances. The user's age and inexperience were taken into account, but ultimately, the decision to ban was made to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users.
After the ban was lifted, the user received a warning and a temporary mute from the mods. The user was advised to take the time to reflect on their behavior and to work on improving their communication skills. The mods also provided additional guidance on how to handle conflicts and how to communicate effectively with other users. The incident was not repeated, and the user has continued to be active and engaged on the server.
