We get a fair amount of ban appeals coming through every week, and as a community, we've developed a system for dealing with them. If you've been banned and you think it was unfair, you can appeal to the moderators. To do this, you'll need to type out a clear explanation of why you think you were banned and send it to our team. We'll read it over and make a decision based on our guidelines and the facts.
One thing to keep in mind is that we take the rules seriously, and if you've broken them, it's likely you'll be banned again if you don't shape up. We're not out to be harsh or unfair, but we do expect everyone to follow the rules. If you're unsure about what the rules are or why you were banned, you can always check out our wiki or ask one of the moderators for clarification.
We usually try to respond to ban appeals within a day or two, and we'll let you know if your appeal was successful or not. If it was successful, we'll lift the ban and let you back in. If not, we'll explain why and what you need to do to avoid getting banned again in the future. Some bans are permanent, in which case we'll let you know that too. In those cases, we'll try to help you understand why the ban was necessary and what you can do to improve your behavior.
