RIZZASTER

Chat Safety for Parents

/archive/wallpapers/datapacks/ · last edited 07 Jan 2019 · Moderation

As a parent of a child playing on Rizzaster, you may have concerns about the safety of their online interactions. This runbook provides guidance on how to have these conversations and what to do if you suspect your child has been exposed to something that's made you uncomfortable.

The server is designed to be a safe space for teenagers and kids to socialize and play, but it's not a substitute for adult supervision. The volunteer moderators who run the server are responsible for enforcing the rules and maintaining a safe environment, but they're not perfect and can make mistakes. If you have concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to them - they're there to help.

If you suspect your child has been exposed to something that's made you uncomfortable, try to stay calm and have a conversation with them about it. Ask them what happened and listen to their perspective, but also be clear about your expectations for behavior and what you will and won't tolerate. Don't confront your child or accuse them of being in trouble - that's unlikely to be helpful.

If the issue is serious and you're not sure how to handle it, contact the moderators directly. They'll do their best to reassure you and provide guidance on how to move forward. Remember that the moderators are not the final authority, but they can provide valuable insight and support.

Here's what to do in specific situations:

If you suspect your child has been contacted by someone they don't know, tell the moderators and ask them to investigate. They'll do their best to block the user and provide guidance on how to keep your child safe.

If your child has shared something online that's made you uncomfortable, have a conversation with them about it and explain why it's not acceptable. Encourage them to think critically about the content they share and the people they interact with.

If you notice your child is being harassed or bullied on the server, tell the moderators immediately. They'll take action to address the situation and provide support for your child.
