The whitelist is currently a manual process, where new members are added one by one by the moderators. This method works because it allows for more control over who joins the server, but it also means that we can only process new members at certain times, mainly during the weekends when the moderators are on duty. This also means that it can take some time for new members to be added to the server, especially during the week.
To join the server, new members need to get a personal invite from a moderator, either in-person or through messaging. The new member will then need to fill out a registration form with some basic information, such as name and age, which is then verified by one of the moderators. The moderators will check that the member is who they claim to be and that they fit within our community guidelines.
One of the benefits of the whitelist is that it allows us to keep an eye on who is coming and going, which helps us to identify and remove any members who may be causing problems. However, it can also mean that some members may feel left out or excluded if they are not added to the server right away.
The moderators will discuss at their next meeting the possibility of implementing a more automated system for adding new members, but this would require some technical setup and maintenance.
