Backup of the World Files

/archive/trailers/screenshots/misc/ · last edited 21 Feb 2020 · Support

We regularly take backups of the world files to ensure that our game data is preserved in case something goes wrong. This includes server crashes, software issues, and even hardware failures. These backups are taken manually by one of our moderators, who is responsible for monitoring the server and making sure everything runs smoothly.

The backups are stored on an external hard drive, which is kept in a safe and secure location. This hard drive is not connected to the internet and is only accessible by our moderators. We try to back up the world files at least once a day, but not so often that it becomes a burden on the server's performance. If we need to make any significant changes to the world files, we will communicate this to the community in advance so that everyone can prepare.

We also take automated backups of the game data by using a third-party tool. This tool will backup the game data automatically at set times, usually during the night when the server is less busy. These backups are stored on the same external hard drive as the manual backups. We try to keep these backups for at least 30 days, but we may delete them earlier if there are any issues with the server or if the community decides to delete them.

It's worth noting that our backups are not perfect and there is always a risk of data loss. However, we do our best to minimize this risk and ensure that our backups are reliable. If you have any concerns or issues with the backups, please don't hesitate to reach out to our moderators.
