How to Report a Griefer

When a player is observed engaging in behavior that disrupts gameplay, such as destroying builds, harassing others, or exploiting game mechanics intentionally, report it immediately through the in-game reporting system. Provide specific details including the time of the incident, the affected area or player, and any relevant in-game actions or messages. Avoid vague descriptions like “they were mean” — instead, note actions like “player stood at spawn and destroyed 5 player-built houses within 2 minutes.”

Reports should be submitted only after verifying the behavior is intentional and not a misunderstanding or accidental action. If unsure, consult a moderator in the server chat or via private message before reporting. Moderators will review reports within 24 hours, prioritizing those with clear timestamps and evidence. Reports without sufficient detail may be closed without action.

Open questions remain about how to handle repetitive offenders who change usernames frequently. One idea under discussion is to maintain a shared internal log of known problematic usernames, though this raises privacy concerns. Also undecided is whether to issue warnings before bans in cases involving younger players, as some moderators believe a warning is more appropriate for first-time rule violations by teens.

Next steps include finalizing the reporting form in the server’s Discord channel to standardize the information collected. A test run will be conducted with two volunteer moderators reviewing real reports to evaluate clarity and response time. Decisions on warning policies and username tracking will be revisited after the test phase.
