RIZZASTER

Server Lag and What Is Being Done About It

Lag on Rizzaster is primarily caused by a combination of server hardware limitations, high player count during peak hours, and occasional resource-heavy game actions like large-scale builds or complex redstone mechanisms. These factors can slow down response times and cause delays in player movements, chat messages, and game events.

The volunteer team regularly monitors server performance using built-in tools. We’ve identified that the main bottleneck occurs when more than 25 players are online simultaneously, especially when multiple large structures or automated systems are active. We are adjusting server settings to limit simultaneous redstone updates and reduce the load from complex machinery.

We are currently testing a phased approach to server optimization. This includes limiting the number of active entities during peak times, implementing scheduled server restarts to clear memory buildup, and gradually reducing the render distance for players to lower bandwidth and processing demands. These changes are applied during off-peak hours to minimize disruption.

Players are encouraged to report lag in the feedback channel with specific details such as the time, activity, and whether it affects chat or movement. This helps us pinpoint recurring issues. We are also working on a lightweight client-side mod that can help reduce visual load without impacting gameplay.

All changes are reviewed weekly and rolled out in stages. We aim to maintain smooth performance while preserving the creative freedom that makes the server enjoyable. Feedback from players is essential, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we improve the experience.
