Ban Appeals Procedure

/archive/trailers/chatlogs/ · last edited 21 Oct 2021 · Partnerships

The ban appeal process is in place to ensure that moderators make informed decisions when issuing bans and to minimize the impact on the server. When a user submits a ban appeal, the moderator responsible for issuing the ban will review the case and provide a written decision on the appeal. The decision will be based on the specific circumstances of the incident, the severity of the infraction, and the severity of the ban.

Moderators will not reissue the ban without a valid reason for doing so, and will not reduce the ban without a substantial change in circumstances. If the appeal is successful, the ban will be lifted, and the user will be allowed to continue playing on the server. If the appeal is unsuccessful, the user will receive a written explanation for the decision and will be given the opportunity to review the ban again in a set period of time.

In cases where an appeal is denied, moderators will work with the user to provide constructive feedback and guidance on how to avoid similar infractions in the future. This feedback will be specific and actionable, and will be provided in a clear and concise manner. Moderators will also keep a record of the appeal and the decision made, for reference and future review.

The goal of the ban appeal process is to strike a balance between fairness and consistency, while also ensuring that the server remains a safe and enjoyable environment for all users. By following this procedure, moderators aim to make informed and reasonable decisions, and to minimize the impact of the ban on the user.
