Weekly Leaderboard Reset Review

The weekly leaderboard reset occurred without incident, as it has for as long as anyone can remember. On the designated day and time, the leaderboard is reset to its default values, removing all accumulated points and resetting the ranking list. This is done to ensure fairness and to prevent any point manipulation or exploits that could be taken advantage of during a given week.

There was a brief discussion among the moderators about the possibility of implementing a warning system for players who consistently accumulate large amounts of points, potentially leading to their ranking being unfairly pushed towards the top. However, the idea was ultimately deemed unnecessary and not worth the added complexity. The current system has worked well for the past few years, with a few minor tweaks made to address specific issues that arose.

The reset process now takes place immediately after the last major update, to prevent any potential issues caused by the new game data interfering with the leaderboard. The moderators have also made sure to test the reset process thoroughly the day before, to catch any potential bugs or glitches. This has resulted in an almost flawless process, with only the occasional minor glitch or discrepancy.

A few weeks ago, a player brought up concerns about the leaderboard being reset too frequently, with some arguing that it resets every week, regardless of the actual activity level within the server. The moderators acknowledged the issue and decided to make some adjustments to the reset schedule. Going forward, the leaderboard will only be reset on the designated day and time, and not at random intervals.
