Staff Handbook for New Helpers

The most important thing to remember is that we're all in this together. We're a team, and we have to work together to keep the server running smoothly. That means listening to each other, being patient, and following the rules.

Take some time to explore the server, get to know the different channels and rooms. Understand how the moderation tools work, and what kind of content is allowed and not allowed. We have a lot of rules in place to keep everyone safe and happy.

You'll be working with a small team of moderators, each with their own role. The main mods will be handling more serious issues, while the junior mods will be helping with smaller tasks like answering questions and moderating in more relaxed channels. Make sure you know your place and what's expected of you.

We communicate through Discord, so make sure you're familiar with the channel hierarchy and how to use the different channels. Be clear and concise when reporting issues or making decisions, and always follow up with the team. We'll also be having regular team meetings to discuss any issues or concerns.

When reporting an issue, stick to the facts and try to be as objective as possible. Avoid making assumptions or jumping to conclusions. If you're unsure about what to do, ask one of the main mods for guidance. We'll also have a set of guidelines for handling different types of issues, so make sure you're familiar with those.

The most important thing we're trying to do is keep the server a safe and welcoming space for everyone. That means enforcing the rules, reporting any suspicious behavior, and keeping the server free of hate speech, harassment, and explicit content.

Things won't always go according to plan. Be prepared for unexpected issues and changes, and remember that we're all human. If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't be afraid to ask for help or take a break. We're all in this together, and we'll get through it as a team.
