Rizzaster Ban Appeals and Moderation Process

We discussed how to handle ban appeals in a way that is fair, transparent, and encourages a positive community culture. The first decision was to establish a clear and concise process for appeals, including a deadline for submissions and a fixed timeframe for the review. We agreed to send an email to the banned user outlining the reasons for the ban, the process for appeal, and the consequences of a failed appeal.

A common concern was ensuring that the appeal process was not too cumbersome, which could discourage users from appealing. However, we decided that it is important to have a thorough review process to maintain the integrity of the server. We will use a combination of text messages and a dedicated forum thread for appeals to streamline the process while keeping all communications in one place.

Open questions we need to address include:

How will we handle situations where a banned user appeals but also continues to violate rules during the appeal period?

Should we have a community voting system as part of the appeal process to gauge the community's opinion on the ban?

How can we provide support to users who are going through the appeal process to ensure they feel heard and valued?

Next steps include drafting a template for the appeal email and forum post, and establishing a rotation schedule for moderators to handle appeals.
