The last meeting saw a discussion about revamping the Discord server rules to better suit the community's needs. It was agreed that the current rules were somewhat outdated and needed to be updated to reflect the community's growth and changing values. The main points of the new rules were discussed and agreed upon, with some minor adjustments to wording and tone.
The new rules will emphasize kindness, respect, and inclusivity, while also explicitly stating what is and isn't allowed on the server. The rules will also be more concise and easy to understand, with clear examples and explanations for each rule. The moderators will work together to ensure the rules are consistently enforced and that members know what to expect.
One of the main points of contention during the meeting was the issue of self-promotion and spam. It was agreed that self-promotion is allowed, but must be kept to a minimum and must not disrupt the server's community focus. Spamming will not be tolerated and will result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban. The moderators will also work on implementing a system for reporting and addressing self-promotion and spam.
There are still some open questions regarding the rules, such as what constitutes "spam" and how the moderators will handle repeated instances of self-promotion. The moderators will discuss and agree upon these details in the coming weeks and will make sure to communicate the rules clearly to the community.
