Onboarding New Moderators

When adding a new moderator to the Rizzaster team, it's essential to strike a balance between giving them the necessary tools and responsibilities while also ensuring they don't feel overwhelmed. We've opted for a 'buddy system' approach, where the new moderator is paired with an existing team member who acts as their primary point of contact and guide. This allows for an informal, flexible learning process that can be tailored to the individual's needs and learning style.

By having a buddy, the new moderator can receive one-on-one support and guidance, as well as share their own experiences and insights with the team. This approach also helps to identify any potential areas of confusion or frustration early on, allowing the team to provide targeted support and training before things escalate. Additionally, having a buddy allows us to maintain a good sense of community and camaraderie, which is essential for creating a positive and inclusive environment for our users.

In terms of specific responsibilities, the new moderator will be expected to attend regular team meetings, participate in training sessions, and review and apply the community guidelines and rules. They will also be expected to work closely with the existing moderators to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and to provide feedback on the team's overall performance. Throughout the onboarding process, we will provide regular check-ins and feedback to ensure that the new moderator is feeling supported and engaged.
