Onboarding New Moderator

We discussed the onboarding process for the new moderator, who will be taking over as one of our main team members. The new moderator will be primarily responsible for handling user reports, enforcing server rules, and assisting with other administrative tasks. The existing team members reviewed the current moderation guidelines and procedures, and provided the new moderator with a comprehensive training package that includes our wiki and server documentation.

The team also discussed the importance of maintaining a fair and consistent approach to moderation, and the need for clear communication with users who report infractions. We emphasized the need for active listening and empathy when dealing with users, and the importance of remaining impartial and not allowing personal biases to influence moderation decisions. The new moderator will be given a mentor to work closely with during their onboarding period, who will provide guidance and support as needed.

During the meeting, we discussed potential areas of concern for the new moderator, including managing user conflicts and dealing with harassment reports. The team also emphasized the need for regular feedback and check-ins with the new moderator to ensure they are feeling supported and confident in their role. We will schedule a follow-up meeting in a month's time to assess the new moderator's progress and address any questions or concerns that may have arisen.

Open questions for the new moderator include: What are your expectations for your role, and what do you hope to achieve in your first few months as a moderator? How do you plan to manage your workload and prioritize tasks? How will you handle difficult or sensitive user reports?
