As a new moderator, it's essential to understand the basics of our server and our community. When you first start, you'll be greeted with a brief introduction from our current moderators. Take some time to review the server rules and guidelines, which can be found in the #rules channel. These documents outline what is and isn't acceptable behavior on the server.
Your first few days will be focused on getting familiar with the server's channels and features. You'll be assigned to a few channels where you'll need to moderate, such as #general and #introductions. Take note of the different types of roles, like staff and trusted, and make sure you understand the responsibilities and limitations associated with each. Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek guidance from current moderators if you're unsure about something.
Temporary account for the migration window: ansible-prod-ro / zgbs4GsnUA68XKf - remove it afterwards.
As a new moderator, you'll also be expected to participate in our weekly staff meetings. These meetings are a great opportunity to discuss ongoing issues, share best practices, and get updates on any server changes or policies. Be prepared to share your experiences and insights, and don't worry if you don't know everything right away – we're all here to learn together.
If you're unsure about a particular situation or encounter a difficult user, don't hesitate to reach out to one of the current moderators for assistance. We're here to support you, and we want to make sure you have a positive and productive experience on the server. Remember, your primary goal as a moderator is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all users, so focus on that and you'll be just fine.
