Backup Procedures for Rizzaster World Files

/archive/staff-notes/configs/bots/ · last edited 08 Feb 2021 · Support

The primary purpose of this runbook is to document the process for backing up world files for the Rizzaster game server. This ensures data integrity and minimizes downtime in the event of a system failure or data corruption.

To begin, log into the server using the provided secure terminal. Verify that you have the necessary permissions to access and modify the world file directories. Navigate to the directory where the world files are stored; typically, this is located at /home/world_files.

Before initiating the backup, ensure all in-game activity has stopped or is minimized to avoid data inconsistencies. Use the command "rsync -avz --delete /home/world_files /backups/world_files" to synchronize and copy the current world files to the backup directory. This command ensures that all files and subdirectories are copied, and any outdated files are removed from the backup.
