A few days ago, a user posted a meme in the meme channel that included a caricature of a popular public figure in a context that was vaguely suggestive and could be interpreted as mocking a real-life individual's identity. The post was flagged by another player within minutes. The content was not overtly offensive but crossed a line by implying something inappropriate about someone known to be a minor. This violated the server’s core rule about respecting others’ privacy and dignity, especially in a space meant for younger users.
The incident was reviewed by the moderation team. We determined that while the intent was likely just to be funny, the execution failed the community standard for age-appropriate humor. The channel is meant to be a space for lighthearted, inclusive fun, and even unintentional content that could make others uncomfortable or feel targeted is not acceptable. The post was removed, the user was given a gentle warning, and the incident was documented as a learning moment.
As a result, the channel now has an updated guideline: all memes must be positive, non-personal, and avoid referencing real people—especially those who are minors or public figures in sensitive positions. Memes that use generic characters, fictional scenarios, or abstract humor are preferred. Moderators will now proactively review any post that contains a recognizable person or potentially sensitive content before allowing it to stay. We also added a reminder in the channel rules that says "If it could make someone feel bad, it’s not for here."
The change was communicated to all players via a pinned message in the channel and a quick mention during the weekly community check-in. Moderators were reminded to stay alert during peak hours and to encourage constructive alternatives—like shared joke formats or meme templates—to keep the energy fun without risk. The goal is to maintain a safe, welcoming space where everyone feels free to participate without fear of being targeted.
