The whitelist was created in 2020 as a solution to the issue of unwanted players flooding the server. The initial implementation allowed all registered users to automatically gain access to the server. However, this led to a significant increase in toxic behavior and harassment. Players who were not familiar with the server's community guidelines and rules were often overwhelmed, and this created an environment that attracted the wrong type of players.
In 2021, the whitelist was revised to implement a more nuanced approach. The new system required players to be invited by an administrator or moderator to join the server. This change was made to ensure that new players were introduced to the community at a slower pace, allowing them to become familiar with the server's culture and rules. The moderators also began to actively monitor and enforce the community guidelines, which led to a significant decrease in toxic behavior.
Since the revision, the whitelist has become a key factor in maintaining the server's positive atmosphere. Players are more likely to be respectful and considerate of one another, as they have been carefully vetted and invited into the community. The moderators continue to work together to ensure that the server remains a safe and enjoyable space for all players.
