Last week, we had a promotion incident that required quick action to ensure the integrity of our game server's rank system. The issue arose when a player, who had been a long-standing member and an active participant, complained that they were not being promoted to the next rank despite meeting the criteria. Upon investigation, we found that the rank system had been temporarily glitched due to a recent update.

The rank requirements for promotion involve a combination of experience points, in-game achievements, and player activity. Specifically, a player needs 5000 experience points and must complete at least three major in-game challenges. The player in question had completed all three challenges and had over 5500 experience points, but the system did not recognize their progress.

To address the issue, we first manually promoted the player to the correct rank. This step ensured that the player received their due recognition and could participate in higher-tier activities. Moving forward, we updated the rank system code to prevent similar issues. A backup of the previous code version was also created for future reference, and all moderators were briefed on the changes to ensure consistency in handling similar incidents.
