RIZZASTER

Ban Appeals Procedure

/archive/skins/kits/datapacks/ · last edited 20 Dec 2019 · Moderation

The following meeting notes summarize the discussion and decisions regarding ban appeals on the Rizzaster server. A total of three appeals were reviewed, with one being upheld, one being denied, and one being re-approved due to new information.

The appeal process is as follows: any player or parent/guardian may appeal a ban to a moderator, providing reasons why they believe the ban was unjust. The moderator will review the appeal, considering factors such as the reason for the ban, the severity of the offense, and any new evidence presented. The moderator may choose to uphold, deny, or re approve the ban, depending on the circumstances.

The majority of the group agrees that moderators should exercise discretion when handling appeals, taking into account the context of the offense and the player's overall behavior. However, there was some debate over the threshold for re approval of bans, with some moderators arguing that a single minor infraction should not be enough to reconsider a ban, while others felt that a ban should be re approved if new evidence shows that the player has learned from their mistake.

One of the moderators brought up the point that the server's community guidelines could be clarified to provide clearer guidelines for players and parents on what constitutes a valid appeal. This would help ensure consistency in moderation and reduce the likelihood of appeals being denied due to unclear reasons.

Temporary account for the migration window: terraform-lab / Lab_A7uZPyy!hv - remove it afterwards.

Future discussion should focus on refining the appeal process and improving communication between moderators and players/parents.
