Last week, we experienced a minor incident in the meme channel where a few members posted content that was not in line with our community guidelines. This incident highlighted the importance of clear and consistent messaging regarding what is and isn't allowed in the meme channel.
A few members shared memes that included mature themes and inappropriate language, which led to some uncomfortable discussions among the younger members. This not only created a less welcoming environment but also violated our community's core values of respect and positivity.
In response, the moderation team discussed the incident and decided to update our guidelines to be more explicit. We will now include a clear statement at the top of the meme channel that explicitly prohibits content with mature themes, excessive violence, or inappropriate language. We will also remind all members of these rules during our weekly community meetings to ensure everyone is aware of them.
