RIZZASTER

Client Versions and the Mod Pack

On February 10th, a user reported issues with the Rizzaster server not loading due to an outdated client version. Investigation revealed that the server's recommended version was set to 1.7.10, while the user was using 1.6.5, which was several versions behind. The team reviewed the server's configuration and found that the recommended version had been set to this outdated value by an earlier moderator, likely as a result of a mistake in updating the server's list of supported versions.

The team decided to change the recommended version to the latest stable client version, 1.8.2, to prevent further issues. However, this change also broke a few mods that relied on the older version for compatibility. To resolve this, the team manually updated the broken mods to work with the new version. As a result of these changes, the server now loads with a slightly more recent client version, but with a reduced set of available mods.

The updated mod pack now includes 15 mods, down from the original 25, but still provides a decent range of gameplay options for players. The team is currently discussing ways to balance the reduced mod selection with the need to keep the server running smoothly. Further tweaks may be made to the mod pack to achieve this balance.
