Client Versions and Mod Pack

The meeting discussed the current client version, with most users running Minecraft 1.18. The consensus is that this version is stable and sufficient for our server. It was decided to keep the client version capped at 1.18 for the foreseeable future. This will prevent potential compatibility issues with new mods that may not be tested for older versions.

The mod pack is currently a mix of the vanilla Minecraft assets and some community-created mods. The mods are generally well-maintained and provide a fun experience for players. However, it was noted that the pack is getting a bit outdated, with some mods not being updated for a while. It was suggested to look into creating a more curated mod pack with only the most popular and stable mods. This would make it easier for new players to find and install mods.

One moderator expressed concern that the mod pack may not be suitable for younger players due to some mods containing mature themes or language. It was decided to keep an eye on the mods and remove any that may not be suitable for our audience.

There are currently no plans to switch to a different client version, but it's worth keeping an eye on any major updates to Minecraft that may affect our server. Open question: what's the best way to handle mod updates and removals? Should we have a designated mod updater, or should it be a community task?
