If you encounter a player who is intentionally trying to ruin the game experience for others, you can report them to the moderators. The first step is to document the incident as much as possible. Write down the time and date of the event, what exactly happened, and who was involved. Try to remember as much detail as you can, but don't worry if it's not perfect - the moderators will work with whatever information you have.
When reporting a griefer, it's best to be specific about what they did that was problematic. For example, instead of just saying "this player was a jerk", say "player X used the /kill command to kill everyone on the server for no reason". This will help the moderators understand what happened and take the necessary action. Remember to keep your report civil and factual - the moderators are more likely to take your report seriously if you're calm and clear.
It's also a good idea to keep a record of any incidents, including screenshots or video clips of the problematic behavior. This can be useful evidence if the moderators need to look into the matter further. However, be aware that sharing screenshots or clips may not always be necessary, and you may not need to do so. The moderators will handle the investigation from there.
Finally, remember that reporting a griefer is not the same as being a "tattle-tale" or a "snitch". You're simply helping to maintain a positive and fair environment for everyone on the server. If you're unsure whether something is a legitimate report or not, it's always better to err on the side of caution and report it anyway. The moderators will handle it from there.
