We decided to reset the map every two weeks instead of every week. This means the map will remain stable for a bit longer, allowing players to build and explore without the constant loss of resources. We also considered the fact that some players spend a lot of time building and don't want to lose all their progress every week. The longer interval allows for a bit more consistency and makes the game feel less punishing.
One of the main concerns was the impact on our moderator team, who would have to deal with a constant influx of new player spawn points and the chaos that ensues when the map is reset. By giving the map a bit more breathing room, we can manage the reset process more efficiently and keep the overall server experience smoother. This also gives us a chance to tidy up some of the server's internal systems, which will make our lives easier in the long run.
We've also experimented with other reset schedules in the past, but this one seems to be working well for us. The two-week interval provides a good balance between keeping the game fresh and preventing players from getting too comfortable. We'll keep an eye on this schedule and make any necessary adjustments if we notice any issues down the line.
