The new moderator is expected to join us within the next two weeks, so it's a good idea to get a head start on the onboarding process. We've had a few issues in the past with new moderators struggling to keep up with the demands of the server, so we'll need to make sure they have a solid foundation to work from.
First, send them a message welcoming them to the team and letting them know what to expect. Explain that they'll be receiving a server list and a copy of the moderator guides, which include information on how to manage channels, enforce rules, and deal with common issues. Encourage them to reach out if they have any questions or need help getting set up.
Next, schedule a training session with one of the more experienced moderators. This will give them a chance to get hands-on practice and learn from someone who's been doing this for a while. We'll also need to discuss the day-to-day operations of the server and go over the current issues that are affecting us. The goal is to make sure the new moderator understands how the server works and can hit the ground running when they're first appointed.
Once the training session is out of the way, we'll need to start assigning tasks to the new moderator. This might include things like managing a specific channel or helping out with events. Encourage them to take ownership of their tasks and don't be afraid to ask for help if they need it. We're all here to support each other, after all.
