In December 2022, issues arose with the crate rewards system due to some users attempting to exploit the voting system to gain in-game items. Specifically, some users were able to vote multiple times in a short period of time, resulting in an overabundance of items being awarded to them. The moderation team discovered this and took steps to address the issue by introducing a new system to limit vote frequency.
Prior to the change, any user who reached the daily vote limit was allowed to continue voting, regardless of whether they were on their next reset date. However, since then, the system has been modified so that users who have reached the daily limit are unable to vote for 24 hours, after which they can resume normal voting. The change was made to prevent users from manipulating the system to gain unfair advantages.
The introduction of the 24-hour wait period was a direct response to the issue at hand. By implementing this change, the moderation team aims to ensure that all users have a fair chance to participate in the voting system, without the risk of exploiting it to gain in-game items. Regular monitoring of the system will be necessary to ensure that the change is effective in addressing the issue.
