The decision to create a meme channel on the server was made at the last moderator meeting, with the majority of the team in favor. The channel is intended to be a lighthearted space for users to share and view funny images, videos, and text-based memes.
After some discussion, the following guidelines were established for the meme channel: no memes that are specifically targeting or mocking individual users will be allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, image macros with captions that name-check users or imply that they are doing something embarrassing or ridiculous. Additionally, no memes that promote or glorify toxic behavior will be tolerated. These guidelines are in place to ensure that the channel remains a positive and inclusive space for all users.
The moderators also agreed that users are allowed to share memes that are relevant to gaming or pop culture. These can include memes that reference recent events or trends in the gaming world, or that poke fun at popular games or franchises. The goal is to create a channel that is fun and entertaining, but also respectful and considerate of other users.
Open questions for future discussion include the role of the moderators in enforcing these guidelines, and the potential for users to request the removal of a meme if they feel it does not align with the channel's rules. The team will need to establish a clear and consistent process for handling these requests, while also striking a balance between allowing users to express themselves and maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere in the channel.
