Staff Handbook for New Helpers

/archive/plugins/rewards/cosmetics/ · last edited 23 Jan 2018 · Moderation

The Rizzaster staff consists of a small group of volunteer moderators who are responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for our users. As a new helper, you will be expected to contribute to this effort and assist with various tasks and duties.

One of the key principles of Rizzaster is to maintain a neutral and respectful atmosphere. This means avoiding personal opinions, biases, and inflammatory language. As a staff member, you will be expected to follow community guidelines and adhere to the rules. This includes being mindful of your tone and language when interacting with users, especially in public channels. It's also essential to be aware of power dynamics and to respect users' boundaries.

When it comes to user behavior, the staff's primary role is to de-escalate conflicts and provide guidance. This may involve mediating disputes, offering suggestions, or pointing users in the right direction. It's also essential to be proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate. The staff will work together to ensure that decisions are made fairly and consistently.

In terms of workflow, the staff is responsible for reviewing and approving user-generated content, managing channel moderation, and coordinating with other team members as needed. You will also be expected to participate in regular team meetings and contribute to ongoing discussions and initiatives. Your contributions will be valued and respected, and you are encouraged to share your ideas and perspectives.

If you're unsure about any aspect of your role or have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to other staff members or seek clarification. We're here to support each other and ensure the continued success and enjoyment of the community.
