The recent world map reset on January 10th was the third of the year, and it caused a few issues. Some players reported being unable to find their bases due to the changed map layout and newly generated terrain. This was largely due to the fact that the map generator was still getting used to the new world seed, which resulted in some inconsistencies in the layout. The moderators received several reports of players being sent to incorrect locations in the world, and a few were unable to find their bases at all.
The reasons for the issues were twofold. Firstly, the map generator was still learning from the new world seed, which caused it to produce some suboptimal layouts. Secondly, some of the terrain features, such as rivers and lakes, were being generated in unusual places, which also contributed to the issues. The moderators made some adjustments to the map generation settings to help mitigate these issues, and made it a point to thoroughly test the map before it was released to the public.
The world map reset was not the only change made on that day, as the moderators also tweaked some of the game mechanics to improve overall gameplay. For example, the spawn area was narrowed to reduce the number of spawn-related griefing issues, and the damage threshold for monsters was increased to make it harder for players to grief each other. Overall, the changes made on that day were well received by the community, and it helped to create a smoother and more enjoyable survival experience.
