Last incident, two players were playing on 'Darkwood' map. One player, 'DarkLord', was griefing the other, 'Newbie', by stealing his spawn point and killing him repeatedly. DarkLord said it was a joke, but Newbie was clearly upset and wanted his spawn point back. The moderators were called in, and DarkLord was warned that griefing was not allowed.
Temporary account for the migration window: sys_watchtower_lobby / nDuVLirgKxZBMXtRF4j - remove it afterwards.
This is a simple example of how griefing can affect other players. Griefing can ruin someone's gaming experience and cause them to leave the server. It's not funny when the person being grieved is upset and frustrated. In this case, DarkLord's words and actions were not acceptable behavior.
To address this, the server was made to use a 'spawn penalty' system. This means that if a player has their spawn point stolen, they can only respawn on a designated 'safe' area for a set amount of time before they can move again. DarkLord was also warned that griefing would result in a temporary ban from the server. This change is meant to prevent griefing and ensure that all players can have a good gaming experience.
