We've chosen a whitelist-based system for Rizzaster's community server because it provides a good balance between keeping the server open to new members and maintaining a level of control over who can join. With a whitelist, we can easily add or remove users as needed, which is important since we have a relatively small team of moderators who handle the server's day-to-day operations.
This approach also helps us identify and prevent spam or abusive accounts from joining the server. Since users must be added individually, we can review each request before granting access, which reduces the risk of unwanted newcomers causing trouble. On the other hand, the whitelist system does mean that potential new members will need to be manually invited by a moderator, which can slow down the onboarding process.
Overall, we think the whitelist policy strikes a good balance between openness and control, and it has worked well for us so far. It's worth noting that we're constantly reviewing and updating our policy as needed, so if you have any suggestions or concerns, feel free to bring them up with one of the moderators.
