We decided to stick with a monthly reset for the survival world map. This is because it gives us enough time to maintain the server and make any necessary changes, but not so much time that it becomes too easy for players to get bored. Some people were suggesting weekly resets, but we felt that would make it too chaotic and would require us to make too many changes all at once.
A monthly reset also gives us a chance to tidy up the map and make sure it's in a good state for the next round. This can be a big job, especially if we've had a lot of players leave or join over the break. We're not going to spend too much time on it, but we'll make sure to get it done. The downside is that it means the map will be reset at the same time for everyone, which might not be ideal for players who are trying to build up a good spot.
Overall, we think a monthly reset is the best choice for us. It's not too frequent, but it's also not so long that it feels like we're neglecting the map. We'll keep an eye on the server's activity and make adjustments as needed, but for now, we're sticking with the monthly reset schedule.
