Server lag has become an issue on Rizzaster, causing frustration among players. The volunteer moderators are taking the following steps to address the problem.
The first step is to check the server's hardware resources to ensure they are not maxed out. This involves monitoring the CPU usage, RAM, and disk space. If any of these resources are over 80%, it indicates a potential bottleneck that needs to be addressed. The moderators have been instructed to check the hardware usage every two hours during peak hours.
Next, the moderators will be reviewing server logs to identify any performance issues or errors. This will help them pinpoint the cause of the lag and make informed decisions about potential fixes. The logs will also be used to identify any software issues or bugs that need to be addressed.
The moderators will also be working on optimizing server settings to improve performance. This includes adjusting settings related to particle density, texture quality, and other graphics-related options. They will be doing this by reviewing server settings documents and seeking advice from other server administrators. The goal is to find a balance between quality and performance.

To mitigate the issue temporarily, the moderators will be implementing a server load limiter. This will help prevent the server from becoming overwhelmed during peak hours. The limiter will reduce the number of players on the server during busy periods, giving the server a chance to recover and reducing lag for players.
The moderators will continue to monitor the server's performance and adjust settings as needed. They will also be keeping an eye out for any updates or patches that may improve server performance. The ultimate goal is to find a solution that balances quality and performance, ensuring that players can enjoy the game without excessive lag.
