Server Lag Runbook

The server lag issue is a persistent problem on Rizzaster. It can cause frustrating delays and dropped connections, particularly during busy times. We've been monitoring the issue closely and have implemented some measures to help alleviate it.

Our current server configuration is a bit outdated, and we've identified some opportunities to optimize performance. We're currently testing a new server upgrade that includes improved hardware and software optimizations. In the meantime, our moderators are taking proactive steps to manage server load, including limiting player numbers and implementing temporary server bans for repeat offenders. We're also reviewing and adjusting our hosting plan to ensure we have sufficient resources to handle demand.

In addition to these technical measures, we're working to identify and address any underlying causes of lag. We're collecting data on lag incidents and player reports to help us pinpoint specific issues and develop targeted solutions. Our moderators are also being trained to recognize and respond to lag-related issues, so they can provide better support to players.

To further address lag, we're implementing a new system for tracking and monitoring server performance. This will allow us to quickly identify and respond to issues, reducing the impact of lag on the server. We're also exploring options for server clustering, which could help distribute load and reduce lag.

Here are the specific steps we're taking:

Upgrade server hardware and software to improve performance.

Limit player numbers and implement temporary server bans for repeat offenders.

Review and adjust hosting plan to ensure sufficient resources.
