Onboarding a New Moderator

We are adding a new team member to our moderator team, and I wanted to take a moment to document the process for onboarding them. This is a reference for future reference, as our team is small and we all wear many hats.

First things first, we'll need to get them set up with the necessary tools and accounts. This includes creating a new account for them on our server, which includes their moderator role. We'll also need to send them an invite to join our Discord server, where most of our communication happens. This is a great way for them to get familiar with our community and our team.

Once they've got all the tools and are settled into the Discord server, we'll conduct an introductory meeting. This will be a chance for us to go over some of the basics of moderation, such as our community guidelines and rules. We'll also want to discuss our processes and procedures for handling various types of issues that may come up. We've found that this kind of upfront education really helps our new mods get up to speed quickly.

It's also worth noting that our new moderator will be taking on a significant amount of responsibility, and we'll need to be mindful of their workload and stress levels. We'll do our best to make sure they have a good balance of tasks and are given enough support and guidance to succeed. With this new team member, we're looking to expand our moderation capabilities and improve the overall experience for our players.
