The Rank Requirements review is a necessary check to ensure that our server's moderation team is up-to-date with the latest guidelines and that promotions are handled fairly and consistently. The last review was conducted in May 2022, after a number of issues arose from promotions being granted without proper evaluation.
At the time, a number of junior moderators were given a new role after having only completed a fraction of their required hours, despite this being significantly below the minimum requirements set by the server's administrators. This decision was made without consulting the team, and many members of the moderation team were not informed of the changes until after they had taken on the new roles. As a result, some members felt undervalued and were unhappy with the new structure, leading to a number of low-quality games and a decrease in overall morale.

The Rank Requirements review revealed a number of issues with the current system, including a lack of clear guidelines for promotions and a failure to ensure that all team members were aware of the requirements and the decision-making process. The review led to the creation of a new Rank Requirements document, which outlines the minimum hours required for each role and provides a clear process for promotions to be granted. The review also led to the introduction of a mentoring system, where senior moderators will work closely with junior team members to ensure they are meeting their requirements and to provide guidance and support as needed.
As a result of the review, we have seen a significant improvement in the quality of games and a increase in morale among the moderation team. The new Rank Requirements document has helped to ensure consistency and fairness in promotions, and the mentoring system has provided valuable support to junior moderators. The review has also highlighted the importance of regular checks on the server's moderation team, and we will be conducting similar reviews in the future to ensure that our system remains effective and fair.
