Last week, a backup issue occurred on our Rizzaster server. The incident was triggered when the backup script failed to complete its task due to a sudden power outage. This resulted in the loss of the last two days of world file backups.
We realized that the issue arose because the script was not set up to handle unexpected interruptions. To address this, we have made some changes. Firstly, we implemented a more robust backup script that now includes a retry mechanism in case of a power outage or other interruptions. Secondly, we have added a secondary backup server located in a different geographical location to ensure that even if one server fails, we still have a copy of the backup.
These changes should help prevent future backup failures and ensure that our game world files are always protected.
