We chose to limit contest entries to one structure per participant to prevent dominance by a few highly active builders and to encourage broader participation. Without this limit, a small number of users might submit multiple entries, skewing visibility and making it harder for newer or less experienced builders to gain recognition. One structure each ensures fairness and levels the playing field across all skill levels.
We set the contest duration to seven days to balance time pressure with accessibility. A shorter window might exclude users with limited evening availability, while longer contests risk losing momentum. Seven days is long enough to allow thoughtful planning and construction, yet short enough to maintain engagement and avoid procrastination.
Entries must be built entirely within the designated contest zone to maintain consistency in visual style and prevent unfair advantages from pre-existing builds. This also makes judging easier and ensures all entries are visible in the same context. The zone is clearly marked and accessible only during the contest period to avoid accidental interference.
We allow basic materials only—no custom textures, plugins, or mods. This keeps the competition focused on creativity and construction skills rather than technical manipulation. It also simplifies the judging process and ensures all entries are evaluated under the same conditions.
Judging is based on three criteria: creativity, technical skill, and adherence to the theme. These are weighed equally to prevent overemphasis on any single aspect and to promote diverse strengths among participants. Judges are volunteers who have been trained to score consistently, and results are reviewed once before finalization to minimize errors.
