Last month, a member of our Discord community, a 13-year-old user, posted a link to an external gaming tournament website in a public Rizzaster server chat. The link was related to a contest that required registration with personal information, including the user’s full name and date of birth. This was seen by several other members who expressed concern over the potential risks of sharing such personal information, especially for a minor.

The incident highlighted a need for more explicit guidelines regarding the sharing of personal information. As a result, the server moderators decided to update the existing rules to include a clearer statement about the prohibition of sharing personal information online, including full names and dates of birth, without explicit permission from a parent or guardian. The updated rules also remind users to be cautious when clicking on links or providing personal information on external websites, emphasizing the importance of maintaining privacy and safety.

To enforce these new rules, the moderators plan to monitor chat activity more closely and respond to any instances of personal information sharing in a timely manner. Additionally, a dedicated section in the server’s FAQ will be updated to provide more detailed information on privacy and safety best practices.
