We've received several inquiries from parents regarding the safety of our chat forums. In light of this, we've made the decision to implement a more restrictive filter on certain language keywords and phrases. This will help reduce the likelihood of exposure to explicit or mature content that may not be suitable for younger users.
The current filter system allows for the use of a subset of commonly used slang terms and memes, which may have originated from more mature online communities. While these terms can sometimes be innocuous, they can also be misinterpreted or be used to convey mature themes. Our decision to expand the filter list aims to minimize the risk of our chat spaces being misused or compromised.
It's worth noting that no filter system can guarantee complete safety, and some users may still find ways to circumvent the restrictions. However, by taking proactive steps to limit access to potentially mature content, we're doing our part to maintain a safe environment for all users. Moderators will continue to be vigilant in monitoring chat activity, reporting any suspicious behavior, and enforcing community guidelines.
