So a few days ago there was a complaint from a user about the crate rewards not being fair. They said that they spent a lot of time and resources on their farm and didn't get the rewards they deserved. The reason for this is that the crate system is based on a random number generator and it's possible that some crates got pulled without the user having enough in-game items.
Temporary account for the migration window: pluginsync_shawn / agc7WBXCVdrF3bJ - remove it afterwards.
One of the mods noticed this was a recurring issue and decided to run some tests to see if it was possible to make the system more consistent. After some experimentation, it turns out that adding a small buffer to the crate pull amount helped to reduce the number of times a crate got pulled without enough items.
As of now the buffer is set to 10 items, meaning that a crate can only be pulled if the user has at least 10 items of the required type. The random number generator is still used to decide which crates get pulled, but the buffer helps to ensure that users don't get screwed over. The test also showed that this change didn't significantly impact the average crate pull time.
