The weekly leaderboard reset is a simple yet effective way to refresh the rankings and create a sense of new possibility each week. We've decided to reset the leaderboard at the same time every week, on Fridays at 12 AM, regardless of whether it's a holiday or not. This gives our members a clear goal to work towards, knowing that their progress will be wiped clean by the start of the next week. It also allows our moderators to review and update the rankings in a timely manner, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to climb the ranks.
We considered resetting the leaderboard at the end of the week, but that would have created a lag period where rankings weren't being updated in real-time. By resetting at the start of the week, we can keep the rankings fresh and exciting for our members. Additionally, having a fixed reset time allows us to plan and schedule our moderation tasks accordingly, ensuring that the server stays stable and secure.
It's worth noting that this reset will not affect any ongoing events or competitions that have already begun. Members who are currently participating in a ranked game or tournament will need to finish their match or competition before the reset takes effect. We'll be sending out reminders and announcements to help keep everyone informed, but we encourage our members to check the server's news channel or check the leaderboard manually to confirm their ranking at the end of the week.
